Live Activities
Your current class on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, with a live countdown.
Live Activities are an iPhone and iPad feature. Android uses widgets and an ongoing-class notification for similar quick access.
A Class Live Activity keeps your current class on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, the Dynamic Island. It shows a countdown and an I'm here button.
Part of MySched Pro
Live Activities for classes, study sessions, and exam day come with MySched Pro. Without Pro, use the free Next class widget and class reminders for the same heads-up.
Turn on automatic display
Open You ▸ Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ Class reminders, then turn on Show automatically under Live Activity.
When the app is open, Dashboard can start or update the current class. iOS may also start one while the app is closed, but delivery is controlled by iOS and is not guaranteed.
What it shows
- The course, room, and countdown to the end of class.
- A compact view when the Dynamic Island is tucked away.
- I'm here to mark yourself present for that meeting.
If it does not appear
Check that Live Activities are allowed for MySched in the Settings app. You can also open Dashboard while the class is in progress; MySched can start the activity from there.
Study Session Live Activity
On iOS 18 or later, a running study session gets its own Live Activity. It keeps the session name and its countdown on the Lock Screen and, on supported iPhones, the Dynamic Island.
Start one from a class's details while the class is current or later today, or with the Study Mode control in Control Center. See Widgets & controls for placing controls.
Exam-day Live Activity
On the day of an exam, a Live Activity can count down to it on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. It uses the exam's scheduled time from Exams.
