Troubleshooting
Fixes for the things that trip people up.
Most issues come down to notifications, sync, or a feature that stays on your device. Here are the common ones.
Reminders aren't showing
- Make sure Notify me before class is on in More ▸ Preferences, under Class Reminders.
- Check iOS notifications are allowed for MySched. If they're off, MySched shows a shortcut to turn them on.
- Remember the limit: iOS allows 64 scheduled notifications, and MySched reserves 44 for classes. See Reminders.
My schedule looks empty or out of date
You're probably on cached data. If you see Offline · synced ..., pull down to refresh once you're back online. See Sync & offline.
My tasks or attendance aren't syncing
- Make sure you're signed in on both devices.
- Sync runs when you open a tab and when the app becomes active, so give it a moment.
- If you see "Couldn't sync your tasks & classes", your changes are still saved on that device and will sync later.
My grades or exams don't sync
That's expected. Grades, Exams, and Plan are on-device only, by design. They never sync and never leave your phone. To keep a copy, use Export My Data in Preferences. See Account & privacy.
My Study Plan looks empty
The plan is built from your classes and open tasks. If it's empty, you likely have no open tasks, or no free time left this week. Turning on Exams mode narrows it further, to tasks that mention an exam, quiz, midterm, or final. See Plan & study.
My import didn't detect any classes
Use a clear, well-lit screenshot that shows the full schedule table. If nothing is detected, tap Paste Schedule Text or add the classes by hand. See Import.
My Apple Watch shows an old schedule
The watch uses the last snapshot your phone pushed. Open the phone app to push a fresh one. The watch also refreshes about once a minute. See Apple Watch.
I can't sign in, or the code didn't arrive
- Check your email, including spam.
- Use Resend code. There's a short 60-second wait between tries.
- Double-check the email and password you signed up with.
A widget or watch check-in didn't count
Open that class the same week and the check-in becomes a Present record. See Attendance.
The "MySched Focus" filter doesn't change what I see
That's expected. The Focus filter can be configured in iOS, but it doesn't narrow what the app shows yet.
The Live Activity didn't start on its own
Open the app once so it can start automatically. Fully hands-off start from the Lock Screen isn't wired up yet. See Live Activities.
