Attendance
How MySched counts Present, Late, Absent, and Excused, sets a maximum-absence limit, sends Did you attend? reminders, and handles cancelled classes.
Open You ▸ Attendance to see your attendance.
What you see
- Your overall attendance percentage.
- A weekly trend after you have enough records.
- A course-by-course list with status counts and dated history.
By default, courses below 75% are marked At risk. You can change a course's at-risk threshold and how many late arrivals count as an absence.
Maximum absences
Many schools drop a student after a set number of absences. In a course's attendance rules, choose Maximum absences and enter your school's limit. MySched then shows how many absences you have left, and warns you when a course goes over the limit.
Did you attend?
After a class ends, MySched can send a Did you attend? reminder so you can record the class without opening the app. On iPhone and iPad, turn it on or off in You ▸ Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ Class reminders ▸ Did you attend?
Cancelled classes
When a class is cancelled for a day, open that day's class and choose Cancel this class. A cancelled class drops out of your reminders and never counts as an absence.
How the math works
Each class meeting can be Present, Late, Absent, or Excused.
- Present and Late count as attended.
- Absent counts against you.
- Excused is left out of the percentage.
The percentage is:
(Present + Late) ÷ (Present + Late + Absent)
Attendance is recorded for each meeting on a specific day.
Ways to mark yourself present
- Tap Present in a class's details.
- Use I'm here on Dashboard or Schedule.
- Use I'm here on a class notification when it is available.
- Use I'm here on a widget or other quick class surface when it is shown.
On iPhone and iPad, a Live Activity can also show I'm here.
On Android, the ongoing-class notification or a widget may show the same action.
When marking is unavailable
MySched does not offer a mark for a class that was cancelled, has not started yet, is on a future day, or falls after the term ends. On Dashboard, the check-in review only offers Present and Absent.
Check-ins from a notification, widget, or Live Activity are saved first and imported by MySched when it opens. If the record is not visible yet, open MySched during the same week.
